National Gallery of Canada
Energy Retrofit: reduced annual energy costs from $1,500,000 to $900,000.
Work involved changes to the mechanical systems, lighting and architectural trades work. X-L-Air acted as the General Contractor and was responsible for all mechanical, electrical, architectural, structural and DDC controls work. This project was completed while the National Gallery remained open. Care was taken to maintain environmental conditions i.e. air temperature, humidity, cleanliness so as to avoid damage to the art exhibits.
X-L-Air also installed a saw dust extraction system for the large woodwork shop on a turn-key basis (i.e. design-build).
