X-L-Air was the prime mechanical contractor responsible for HVAC, Plumbing, laboratory services, greenhouse mechanical systems, building and laboratory automation controls and sprinklers.
This was a complex laboratory-type building and included various lab systems such as variable air volume fume hoods and a large greenhouse with special mechanical equipment and controls.
This building consumes 73 percent less energy than a conventional building. The university is saving $270,000 a year, over a conventional mechanical system for this type of building. Read the PDF for more information.
